The story of ElWatanya begins in 1957, in the heart of the medina of Marrakech. At a time when the printing industry was still in its infancy, a passionate master printer (founder of the Elwatanya printing house) established a small workshop, driven by a single ambition: to master an exceptional craft. In this modest space, amid the first printing presses and the smell of ink, something far more than just a workshop is taking shape—a calling.
Every print is created with passion; every detail matters; every order is a promise. Very quickly, this passion spread beyond the walls of the medina.
Driven by boundless curiosity, the master printer embarked on journeys around the world to discover developments in the industry, learn and understand new techniques, and draw inspiration from Europe’s leading printing houses.
Each time he returned, he brought back ideas, methods, models… and above all, a forward-thinking determination to advance his craft using the resources at his disposal.
